There are many things to build but generally there's lack of time. Of course need to have some inspiration as well. But I like
challanges; building the same type of vehicle is not very exciting. And I decided to take apart models when I'm short in certain
pieces. That might be a pity but maybe something even better will come forward. And as usual: building is more interesting than
having it.
Below a few vehicles which are on my list to be build. If I managed to build them all shortly I don't know. In most cases these
projects are time consuming.
Kenworth K100, Neil Yates Recovery
During a visit for my work in England I drove to Neil Yates on my way back to picture their Kenworth K100. Shortly before I went
to England I noticed this immaculate recovery vehicle. If I only would have some pictures it would be nice as well. But an
American truck is on my list for years and the K100 is one of my favorites. And because it's a recovery vehicles it makes it even
more interesting!
Volvo F88, Joh. v/d Zand
Every year there's a recovery meeting in the Netherlands and the last few years I went there to take pictures. In May 2011 the
well known recovery specialist Joh. v/d Zand showed his excellent restored Volvo F88 with Eka body. Really an immaclute
vehicle of which lots of pictures were made. For my standards it's quite a small vehicle but interesting though.
Scania T143, Jac. van't Kruis & Zn.
At truck which is on my list for many years is the Scania T143 of Jac. van't Kruis & Zn. This 1994 truck already has driven more
than two million kilometres. It's a drawbar truck which makes the truck interesting but next to this it's a bonneted one. I really have
appeal to such vehicles and in the early 90s I built quite a lot of those and I studied them often.
Kenworth T800 logging truck.
Logging trucks always had a big appeal to me, especially for long wood. An European rig with a loading crane folded on
top of the cab roof might be a nice option as well but not easy to make (getting the crane working). An American truck is
something which I really have to build once. When I'm looking at the colors which I'm currently having in stock this
Kenworth T800 might be a possibility. I saw this one in September 2008 in British Columbia, Canada.
FTF F.8.8.20D, Croonen, Deest
Another truck which is on my to do list for some time is this one of a kind FTF 4-axle rigid brick truck. Croonen of Deest NL
took this one into service in 1978. Since a couple of years it's owned by Ton Spaansen. When he wanted to sell the drawbar
trailer I went there to measure the trailer. I also have pictures of the truck when it was still with Croonen so I have all
ingredients for a model truck especially because the L110 turned out so well.
