History

How did it all start? In 1986 I saw the new LEGO® Model Team series printed in a fresh catalogue at the beginning of the year. Keen on trucks I wanted to have the white US truck (set 5580) but still had to wait for a couple of months. In the meantime I started to build my own truck model. It was a Volvo F12 heavy haulage combo laden with an excavator (set 8851). It was far from what the models are nowadays of course but as a kid I felt very proud with the result. And many more trucks would follow. In a meanwhile I had my copy of set 5580. But I always combined my own models with the Technic sets. I especially was in search of many of these large 24×43 tires from the very first Technic sets from the late 70s and early 80s. Luckily I was able to buy many Technic collections at a bargin during the mid 90s while online market places weren’t known yet and people didn’t knew anything about the value of vintage LEGO sets. Soon I collected about a hundred large tires which allowed me to build the trucks I wanted.

Today I own quite some Model Team sets which I keep on display as well as some other scale model like vehicles and vintage Technic sets.
